Rolling Stones guitarist, Keith Richards, has been in the news a lot lately. The Stones just finished their North American “Zipcode” tour and his solo album, Crosseyed Heart, just released on September 18th. To say he has been busy would be an understatement. Recently, he sat down with comedian, Marc Maron on Maron’s WTF with Marc Maron podcast, and discussed why he doesn’t use pedals on-stage.
“Any of those effects that I need actually can be done from behind [the stage]. Because I need to know where to put my feet. Tripping over those boxes, it just ties you down.
He doesn’t use pedals because they….well…get in his way. If you have seen a Stones show, you will notice that Keith as well as Ronnie and Mick, love moving around a whole lot. However, it is still surprising that he doesn’t use any pedals.
