I’ve always been a big fan of those iconic Steely Dan guitar solos especially from the early days. And while many people think of Larry Carlton and his epic solos in Kid Charlemagne and Don’t Take Me Alive, I for one think of Denny Dias’ electric Sitar solo in Do It Again.

It’s an amazing piece with a great setup, unique syncopation, blistering runs, and an overall composition that is perfect for the song.

In this video, you’ll see Christian Hernandez playing the complex solo note for note on his strat.
